About
After an almost 50 year layoff, I started writing about movies again in 2023. And after two years on Substack, I am migrating to this platform, Ghost.
I’m an activist these days, mostly, part of Biggest Little Action Group in my city of Reno, Nevada.
I have moved away from both San Francisco, where I lived for my entire adult life until the beginning of 2024, and also from being the fiction writer I have been since the late 1980s.
Speaking of the past, I was also the former co-editor/co-publisher of Frighten the Horses, a zine about sex and politics that I put out with Cris Gutierrez, from 1990 to 1994. Among the writers we published were Kim Addonizio, Kathy Acker, Alexander Chee, Carol Queen, Brian Bouldrey, Tanya Dewhurst, Marilyn Jaye Lewis, Patrick (then Pat) Califia, and many others. I’m also the author of two books of sex stories and some other works. All that's on my website markpritchard.net.
You can subscribe to this site (for free) and just about all you'll get is a notification that I've published another piece about movies. I don't have the opportunity to write books about film, or publish these pieces anywhere else, not that I would say no.
